Short Introduction To Black Mahakala

Black Mahakala is the emanation of Avalokiteshvara and is the special protector of Shangpa Kagyu school. He arises from the eightth chapter of Mahakala Tantra belonging to Kriya classification.
Black Mahakala has six hands signifying successful complettion of six perfections. He is Dark Blue in color. His first two hands holdcurved knife(kartika) and a skull cup(kapala). His middle two hands hold a human skull mala and a trident and his lowest two hands hold a damaru and a lasso.
